Fishing Wood Lake
Wood Lake sits in Lake Country between Kalamalka and Okanagan Lake, and it has a reputation among locals that it does not have among visitors. It is compact, which is a real advantage on a half day, because no time is wasted running.
It is best known for kokanee, and it produces rainbow trout as well. Because the lake is small you can cover the productive water properly inside four hours, which makes it a strong choice if you are short on time or you have kids aboard who will not sit through eight hours.
Wood Lake trips run on request as a full or half day.
How we fish it
The same way we fish everywhere: trolling our own hand-tied bucktails, with downriggers when the fish are deep and flat lines when they are up.
