Fishing Skaha Lake
Skaha runs south from Penticton and sits in the warmer half of the valley, which changes what lives in it. Alongside rainbow trout it holds bass, and it fishes on a different calendar to Okanagan Lake.
It is a smaller, more manageable lake than the big one, so a half day here covers real ground.
Skaha trips run on request. If you are staying in Penticton or the south valley this is usually the sensible option.
How we fish it
The same way we fish everywhere: trolling our own hand-tied bucktails, with downriggers when the fish are deep and flat lines when they are up.
